Flurries of snow could fall on higher ground.
Ice could pose problems for motorists in rural parts of the region, although temperatures were expected to remain just above freezing overnight in most parts.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning for Devon and Cornwall yesterday, saying there would be heavy showers, including heavy hailstorms, into the early hours of today.
A Met Office forecaster said: “As the showers push away overnight, there is the possibility of flurries of snow on the very highest ground.”
Cold weather is forecast over the next few days, especially tonight and Friday night.
Saturday is expected to be a dry and sunny day.

“@Matt2112... your uneducated rant would have held more sway if you were even able to spell guarantee .
And billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and even more billions spent on space technology and photography .... should be able to detect when a cold front is coming in .
They can do it with mars .”

“Hi Colli27,
I'm not suprised we don't see the previous 26 people that chose Colli as a name on here. You're quite the laughterbox, they didn't stand a chance. But of course you're quite right,
"Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an IQ of 48, and are what some people call mentally retarded".
Okay!”

“Maybe some of you would like to take a course in meteorology and find out just how difficult it is to predict the weather even WITH all the latest technology?
You can predict to a fair degree temperatures and air pressures, even humidity, but none of that garrantees the resulting weather, only the likely weather.
It's like trying to predict how many birds there are in the rain forest and where in the rainforest they all are, when all you have to go on is the number of trees.
Blame the weather, not the weatherman.”

“@DoNotBook
I once asked them on Twitter why their forecasts were so inaccurate and they responded that they do get the weather forecast correct, it's just that timing is sometimes an issue.
A bit like Eric Morecambe playing all the right notes, but just not necessarily in the right order...”

“Curahee, I forecast the weather for the channel 4 news team when there's weather to report. And 60% of the time, I'm right everytime.”

“If I made mistakes in my job as often as the Met Office do, I'd be sacked. And quite rightly so! They are useless. I have the app on my phone and quite often (such as this morning), the symbols and the maps don't even show the same thing. Ridiculous!”

“The weather was more accurate when it was forecast by Mr Craig Rich on local BBC tv. Am I showing my age now? The magnetic symbols slid down the board and always ended up in the right place. 10 million pounds worth of computers and they can't even get tomorrows weather correct so what chance next week.”

“I wonder if it will be the wrong "type "of snow that screws up the Infrastucture in Plymouth and the rest of the South West this year. We all know that some snow is not compatable with the city and county councils stock of grit and salt. The railways and the A38 are always a problemstical challenge for the authorities. If you live on a B-Road, forget going out at all and just hibernate for the duration. Plymouth is the only city I know that comes to a complete standstill If we get more than a few drifts of the fluffy white stuff or frozen wet stuff.
We need a secondment of Icelandic or Scandinavian expertise just in case :)”
