THREE fire engines were called to reports of a house filled with smoke in Bradworthy yesterday evening.

Crews from Hartland and Bideford went to the address at about 7pm. There had been a fire involving a leather sofa in the ground floor living room which was out on arrival.

A woman suffering from chronic asthma was given oxygen at the scene and treated by ambulance crews.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
