STAR STUDENT: Sophie Hellyer leads the series standings.
NORTH DEVON women dominated on the second stop of the 2012-13 Student Surf Tour.
Originally slated for Watergate Bay, wild wind and swell saw the directors move the comp to the relative shelter of Newquay's Tolcarne beach.

Three of the four finalists in the women's section came from our shores.
Sophie Hellyer, from Westward Ho!, consolidated her position at the top of the series standings with her second win.
"I won the first event in Wales last month and took the second in Newquay this weekend," she said.
"The conditions were hard, guys were struggling to get out back so we were lucky the tide dropped out for our heats. I got some fun waves in the end.
"It was a tough competition and some good surfers got knocked out in the semis as they couldn't find the waves.
"I was stoked to see fellow Westward Ho! maid Maddie Meddings make her second final."
Hellyer finished ahead of Croyde's Jemima Knight, while Meddings took fourth.
Tour head Joe Koa said: "The Devon girls dominated the second leg.
"Jemima and Sophie are both previous Tour winners and are both at the top of the leaderboard. With two events left to go, all is still to play for."
The next stop on the Tour is Croyde in March. The final leg will be at Gwithian in June, when it looks certain the overall women's champion will be from North Devon.
