Students miss out on results
EIGHT students from Bideford College received no results in their law A-level because of an examination board error.
Around 10% of the college's sixth form were unable to pick up the results from exam board OCR with the rest of their grades on Thursday.
Deputy head teacher Jonathan Brewer said it had left students credited with no marks in one subject.
He said the effect was throwing out the individual student's grades, as well as leaving the school unable to give their overall sixth form results.
He said: "This has caused students some problems with university entry. It is very frustrating, but clearly the people most affected are the students."
A spokesman from the examination board said the results were faxed through to the college the following day.
She said: "OCR are terribly sorry the results did not get to the students."
However, Mr Brewer said the results had still not been received on Monday and he was expecting them to come through on Tuesday.
Lisa Davies, a communication officer for UCAS explained if students who received their results late had met the conditions of the universities they would still be offered a place.
However, she said for those who did not meet the requirements clearing would be open until September.
She said: "Obviously the sooner you go to clearing the better because there are more courses available.
"But, we encourage people not to make hasty decisions because this will affect the next three years of their lives."
