I WAS concerned to read in the

Journal

that North Devon+ is putting our Tourist Information Centres (TIC) at risk by cutting their funding by 50%.

They should ask themselves whether the Centres are of more value than a high powered executive, near retirement age, looking for an occupation for a couple of years.

Perhaps they should have said "thanks but no thanks". Half his salary would cover the TIC funding reduction with change to spare.

It seems a simple and obvious solution to the funding shortfall.
