TV debut for North Devon Pipes and Drums
FIFTEEN members of North Devon Pipes and Drums made their TV debuts this week when they appeared in Jamie and Jimmy's Food Fight Club on Channel 4.
The band members featured in the show, last Thursday night, after filming with TV chefs Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Docherty on Exmouth beach during the summer. The show saw the best of British cheeses compared to the best French cheeses in a 'food fight'.
Pipe Major Graham Gisbey explained how the band marched along the beach with a group of chefs carrying cheese.
"They had us playing while Jamie and Jimmy ranted and raved about how good British cheese is," he said.

"It was hysterical and great fun. The weather was a bit miserable but luckily it brightened up for filming."
Graham also said the band had almost missed its opportunity. "It was out of the blue really," he said. I got an email asking if we could appear on TV and I just deleted it, we get all sorts of emails and I thought it was a wind-up.
"But then I got a call the same day asking us to do it. We were quite fortunate really, we almost missed out."
