LOCAL food and drink producers are being invited to enter the Taste of the West Product Awards 2012.

Established in 1991, the Taste of the West recognises excellence throughout the food and drink industry in the South West.

"This is a great opportunity for local producers to gain recognition for their products. It's a great marketing tool to convey the quality and values of the business to buyers and consumers," said a spokesman for Taste of the West.

"And there are lots of other good reasons to enter. Entrants will receive an independent evaluation of the quality of their product from a summary of the judges' feedback. "Products that receive bronze, silver or gold awards will get an award certificate in recognition of their success, as well as a digital award logo that can be used on websites or marketing material.

"Producers will also be given the opportunity to purchase award labels that can be used on the packaging of their award-winning products. This will give even greater publicity for their brand – our logo is renowned for the judging of good, local produce."

The judging will take place in June and bronze, silver and gold winners will be announced soon afterwards.
