Tides Inn at Woolacombe refurbished with a maritime theme
THE former Golden Hind pub in Woolacombe has received a complete makeover prior to its re-opening last week as the Tides Inn.
New owners Robert and Julie Challacombe opened their new establishment last Friday in preparation for the Whitsun bank holiday.

The pub, which used to feature a lot of stone cladding and a yellow tartan carpet, has been refurbished by Avid Design and, despite pubs across the country suffering in the midst of the recession, the new owners are looking forward to what they hope will be a promising season.
Julie said: "Our primary motivation is to create a real local's local while still appealing to holiday makers, couples and families alike.
"We want it to become a relaxed village hub where it's fun to drop in for a drink or meet up with friends."
The pub will also be laying a heavy emphasis on good food and have employed local chef Terry Coates to take care of the kitchens.
Terry said: "Good, traditional food made with ingredients sourced from local suppliers is our strength.
"We want to provide wholesome food in a fun, friendly and comfortable environment."
