PHOTOS: Toko nightclub in Barnstaple undergoes refurbishment

A NIGHTCLUB has gone under the hammer this week, but it isn’t up for auction.

Builder’s hammers swung into action at Toko, on Queen Street in Barnstaple, this weekend as a full refurbishment of the nightclub got under way.

These pictures show the manager Jules Williams getting her hands dirty as the work started this week, but Jules will find herself back in charge of a busy nightclub this weekend, with the bar due to open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday despite the work.

“A wall dividing the club to make it into two rooms is already up,” said Jules, “so the club will open as usual this weekend.”
