NATHAN BATE scored an equaliser with ten minutes to go as Bideford reserves earned a 2-2 draw with Torridgeside in the North Devon League.

The premier division's top two had to settle for a point apiece in a bad-tempered encounter at Donnacroft.

Despite having Will Nicholls sent off in the first half for foul and abusive language, the Robins enjoyed the larger share of possession.

Paddy Ions put Torridgeside ahead before Bideford hit back on the stroke of half time as Sam Stephens struck from the edge of the box.

Torridgeside regained the lead through Rob Holland but Bate's solo effort gave the visitors a share of the spoils.

Bideford remain six points clear at the top while Torridgeside have three games in hand. The teams are due to meet again at the Sports Ground on Sunday, March 24.

Boca Seniors closed the gap on the top two with an 8-1 success at Chittlehampton.

Mark Gilfillan got a hat-trick, Mark Barrow scored twice and Jack Jenkins, Scott Sharp and an own goal saw the champions take their tally to 25 goals in three games.

Fremington have returned to the top of the senior division after a 6-0 win at Bude Town.

Andy King, Wayne Parkhouse, and own goal and Josh Phillips, with a penalty, put them 4-0 up by half time before Simon Larcombe and Parkhouse completed the scoring.
