Traffic calming measures removed
AT LAST it looks as though sense has prevailed in Bideford and the controversial traffic calming measures which have been causing difficulty in Clovelly Road have been removed.
We are all for the introduction of measures which make our roads safer, but when it becomes clear that, in practice, the reverse may be true then it is time for everyone to admit this and act quickly.
That appears to have happened and two of the triangular pavements with bollards are no more. Drivers who have either suffered vehicle damage or run the risk of doing so will be relieved.
Although these measures have caused countless difficulties for people it is, perhaps, sometimes the case that it is only when these things are introduced that problems start to become clear.
But providing everyone can 'fail fast, learn fast, fix fast' then hopefully we can all move on.
