Traffic lights fail on Newport Road in Barnstaple
Traffic lights have failed at one of the busiest junctions in Barnstaple this morning, forcing commuters to take extra care in the rush hour traffic.
The fault occurred at the Newport Road junction at around 8am, causing problems for parents trying to get their children to each of the three nearby schools in Barnstaple.

Park Community School, Newport Primary Academy and Lampard Community School are all just a few streets over from the junction.
One motorist said: "It was surprisingly easy to get through, easier than normal, but some people were unsure what to do."
