ARLINGTON Court is looking for a trainee after being picked to host a training programme aimed at getting people who are under-represented into heritage careers.

The lucky trainee will get a year long placement at Arlington, working in the house and also the carriage museum in order to gain a greater understanding, not only of how the buildings and collections are cared for, but also of the issues surrounding public access to historic places and objects.

In order to promote diversity, applications are sought from anyone with a disability, a lack of formal qualifications, who has been long-term unemployed or is from an under-represented ethnic minority group. It is hoped that this focus will avoid a future shortage of skilled personnel in Housekeeping and Preventive Conservation and House and Collections Management.
