Treating mum with scrumptious cupcakes
Mother's Day Cupcake Gift Workshop
The Big Sheep, near Bideford
Saturday, March 17, 1pm to 3pm
CHILDREN can create a special Mother's Day treat for mum next month by decorating six scrumptious cupcakes during a special workshop at The Big Sheep. Only imagination is needed as the venue will provide the cupcakes, butter icing, sprinkles, shape cutters and tools.
Phoebe Gibb, author of Best Ever Recipes – Cupcakes, will be leading the workshop and is looking forward to sharing her skills and ideas.
"There is a real cupcake craze sweeping the country at the moment and children will enjoy getting imaginative when decorating their cakes," she said.
Phoebe will be offering expert supervision, ideas and inspiration. Groups will be provided with six freshly made cupcakes of different flavours and will be taught various decorating and icing techniques. Participants can then ice the cakes themselves, using the extravaganza of toppings, icing and frosting provided. Edible glitter, sprinkles, sweeties, sugar flowers and marshmallows can then be added for the finishing touch. At the end of the session children will take home a gift box with six of their own creations with a choice of novelty labels.
"Last year my sister Katie and I made mum a selection of cupcakes for Mother's Day and she was thrilled and said it was the best Mother's Day present we ever gave her," said event organiser Claire Payne.
Cost: £10 for groups of one adult and up to two children. Bookings: 01237 472 366 or at www.thebigsheep.co.uk
