UFO seen by man on sea fishing trip
A MAN who experienced a UFO sighting three years ago was encouraged to tell the
Journal
his story, after reading last week's article about unexplained UFOs.
Pete Harris, from Landkey, saw the object in 2006, while he was fishing with his son and friend in Clovelly.
"I am a very normal person who has never believed in UFOs or anything of that sort," he told the
Journal
.
"But, once I had seen it, I did a lot of research and it's the most sighted type of UFO in the world."
Mr Harris first noticed something strange when he saw a reflection in his glasses.
He said: "I noticed green and red lights flashing on my glasses, but because it was Christmas time, I expected it was just festive lights.
"When I turned around to look, there were no Christmas lights flashing."
He said the flashing persisted until he eventually saw an object, located between the cliff.
"It was a triangle shape, similar to concorde, about the size of a football pitch.
"It had four compartments: one was flashing green, one flashing red, and two were empty.
" It was watching me for about 30 seconds, about 20 yards away.
"I didn't take my eyes off it the whole time — I knew that if I did, it would go."
Mr Harris did not tell his son or friend what was going on, at risk of it moving away.
"Suddenly, it just shot away towards to the Bristol channel," he said.
"It went at such a speed, but in complete silence — it just glided."
Mr Harris said that although some people laugh at him, others find it fascinating.
"I phoned the police station, but no-one else had experienced it.
"But once I started researching, I found so many others that had seen what I had on different occasions.
"It looked man-made, I'm still unsure of what it was."
