UPDATE: Woman taken to hospital following crash on New Road, Bideford near Torridge Hill Junction
A female has been taken to hospital following a traffic collision in New Road in Bideford.
The crash occurred around 7.20pm this evening on the A386 between the Ford Rise junction and the Torridge Hill junction just before the Old Bideford Bridge.
It is currently thought only one vehicle was involved in the collision.
Police say one female has been taken to hospital but it is not known how serious her injuries are.

The road remains closed in both directions and police are directing traffic.
It is not known how long the road will remain closed as investigations may have to be carried out following the accident.
A witness driving past the scene said they saw someone lying on the floor covered in blankets who appeared to be bleeding.
They added none of the vehicles seemed to be damaged.
People have taken to Twitter to comment on the accident since it happened.
@SophieJones37 said: "Feel for the guy waiting for medical attention in bideford must be freezing laid on the ground."
