WITH only one month to go until the start of switchover to digital television in North Devon, people are being urged to get ready.

A detailed 20-page guide is being sent to every household by Digital UK.

On-screen captions will also appear on analogue channels, reminding viewers of the switchover on Wednesday July 1.

It will happen in two stages, starting with BBC Two and the first Freeview channels.

Four weeks later all remaining analogue channels switch to digital and other new digital channels will become available.

If viewers have not switched to digital by then, they will lose their TV channels.

Those with Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV will need to re-tune their equipment at both stages.
