VIDEO: Chulmleigh student has work read by Kevin Spacey in New York
A Chulmleigh Community College student won a competition and had her work read by Kevin Spacey at an awards ceremony in New York.
Year 11 pupil Georgina Hodgson entered the competition which asked students to write 1,200 words about how the 9/11 tragedy had changed the world.
Georgina wrote a series of letters to an imaginary friend who had moved to New York and died in the attacks.
She was selected as a winner and, along with five other students, travelled to New York to visit Ground Zero.

The competition was held for the first time last year and the New York visit took place in September.
Students aged 14 to 16 are being urged to enter the competition again this year.
Georgina said of her trip: "We had the excitement of visiting the city itself, but we were also aware that we were here to raise awareness about and pay tribute to the events of 9/11. "We were taken to Ground Zero where we were guided around the memorial and the Tribute Centre by a retired fire-fighter, who had lost his son in the attacks.
"I'd thoroughly recommend entering the competition as I've had the best experience of my life in New York."
A second Chulmeigh Community College student, Hannah Dockings, was also shortlisted in the competition.
