Devon singer-songwriter Ben Howard scooped two awards at last night’s BRIT Awards.
The 25-year-old took home Brit Awards for Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Male Solo Artist.

The Totnes-raised singer-songwriter, who headlined last year’s Goldcoast Oceanfest at Croyde, earned the second accolade for his debut album, Every Kingdom.
Collecting the breakthrough prize from Radio 1 breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw, Howard said: "I'm not very good at speeches. I'm not very good at dancing."

And thanking his mother, he joked: "She's rung a lot of old friends to ask them to vote for this."
He collected the prize for best male from Ed Sheeran, who won the gong last year.
Ben had found little mainstream success until his inclusion on the Mercury Music Prize shortlist last year, which helped him to gain wider recognition. His album Every Kingdom reached number six in the album charts.

He was among a host of talented performers to collect one of the coveted Brit Award trophies, which were this year designed by North Devon-based artist Damien Hirst.
The controversial artist, who lives in Combe Martin and owns a restaurant on Ilfracombe Quay, gave the famous statue a spotty makeover.
Hirst and Howard weren’t the only links the Westcountry had to the BRIT Awards last night – Devon rockers Muse, who are from Teignmouth, were backed by a 60-piece string section as they opened the show with Supremacy.
