LOCAL vegetable farmers Richard and Ruth Kelsey won Best Stand in the Devon Food Hall at the recent Okehampton Show.

Awarding first place to the couple's stand, the judges commented on the freshness and quality of the produce which had been attractively arranged and displayed.

The competition was fierce with the food hall being jammed full of local food producers, showing the best of what Devon has to offer.

The Kelseys grow 25 acres of vegetables in Petrockstowe for their vegetable box delivery service, local restaurants, farmers markets and their new farm shop.

Richard and Ruth said they were thrilled to have been awarded the prize, especially as it came from their home town country show.
