Volunteer in wildlife and outdoor events with the Northern Devon Nature Improve Area project
THE staff of the new Northern Devon Nature Improvement Area (NIA) project are offering you the chance to get out in the fresh air, meet new people and start the New Year health kick early. Thursday, December 20, 10am to 3pm – Specott Moor scrub clearance (off the Tarka Trail at East Yarde).
Tuesday, January 22, 10am to 3pm – Otter holt and small mammal/bird boxes at Higher Kingford Farm, Pancrasweek.
Friday, February 8, 10am to 3pm – Stowford Moor hazel coppice and scrub clearance.
In support of Armed Forces Day at the end of June we are offering £9.99 Family/Portrait Photographic sittings to anyone who holds a Police/Military I.D card! That's a saving of £25.01! Ends July 31/13
Terms: You must show proof of I.D when booking your shoot and pay £9.99 to hold your booking date and time. Only one shoot per family. A viewing day will be held roughly one week from the shooting date.

As part of its community programme the NIA is on the look out for people interested in wildlife who would like to take an active role to work with the NIA in their community. Contact the NIA Community Outreach team for an informal discussion.
The North Devon NIA is a partnership project led by Devon Wildlife Trust on behalf of the North Devon Biosphere Reserve Partnership. Over the next three years and beyond, the Nature Improvement Area project aims to restore and re-create internationally important habitats.
Places such as Culm grasslands, wetlands, neutral meadows, woodlands, hedgerows, rivers and streams across North Devon's unique Torridge river catchment.
