Volunteers for box duty
MARIE Curie Cancer Care is looking for volunteers in Barnstaple to look after around 30 Daffodil collection boxes placed in the shops in the town during the Great Daffodil Appeal.
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing to cancer patients in their own homes. The money generated by the boxes will go towards providing care in the Devon area so this is a great opportunity to become part of something that will really make a difference to others.
It will be your responsibility to visit the shops at the start of 2011 to deliver the boxes, ensuring they are correctly labelled, sealed and secured as necessary, then to collect them at the end of the appeal. You will develop relationships with each of the sites to help us gain continued support for the charity. This activity can fit into your spare time as and when.
By sparing a little of your time, you will be doing something extremely worthwhile, while also gaining valuable experience in fundraising activities. It is also a great way to meet new people.
If you are interested, please call Michelle Mahdon on 01884 703535 to find out more.
