FIVE fire engines went to a blaze in an animal feed production plant in Holsworthy on Monday evening.

Initially two appliances — from Holsworthy and Hatherleigh — were sent to Waldon Way Industrial Estate.

But as more breathing apparatus was required two appliances from Bude and another from Torrington were called out.

The incident command vehicle from Ilfracombe was sent to the scene as well.

The fire involved an animal feed cooling machine in a animal feed production plant.

The fire was initially suppressed by the sprinkler system.

Crews dug out the animal feed from the cooler using six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one thermal imaging camera and a short extension ladder.
