Woman charged for wasting police time
A WOMAN who claimed she'd had her head stamped on 20 times by an abusive partner has been fined for wasting police time.
Police were called to reports of domestic disturbance at an address on Ilfracombe High Street in the early hours of March 9.
After speaking with police the 21-year-old who made the complaint admitted she had fabricated the allegations to try and get her boyfriend in trouble.
The woman was given a fixed penalty notice for £80 for wasting police time.

North Devon Sector Inspector Roger Bartlett said he was very disappointed with the whole incident.
He said: "This was a huge waste of police time and resources. We need to be focusing our efforts on dealing with real victims of crime and this distracts us from doing that."
