Woman died after tripping over books
AN 83-YEAR-OLD Braunton woman died after banging her head at home, an inquest has heard.
Jean Henderson, who had to move with a walking aid trolley following a hip operation, lived in Higher Park Road and received daily visits from agency care workers.
She tripped over books and suffered a head injury on Thursday, November 19, and died ten days later in North Devon District Hospital after developing subdural haemorrhaging.
Deputy coroner John Tomalin recorded a verdict of accidental death at an inquest in Barnstaple.
The inquest heard doctors were concerned about performing surgery on Mrs Henderson because of her fragile health.
