Woman knocked off mobility scooter during collision with car on Bideford Quay

A 57-year-old woman was knocked off her mobility scooter after being involved in a collision with a car in Bideford this afternoon.

Police and an ambulance crew were called to The Quay at around 3.05pm following reports of the incident.

Officers said the woman was complaining of painful ribs after falling from the mobility scooter following a collision with a silver Ford Focus.

The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to North Devon District Hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the car, which is registered to an address in Bideford, has been reported for alleged driving offences, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.

The road was closed for around one hour while emergency dealt with the incident.

The road reopened at 4.05pm.
