Braunton 2 Putford 1: Alan Woodcock scored twice to hand Putford, the leaders, their first defeat since October.

Woodcock set the tone for an entertaining game with a fine turn and shot to open the scoring after five minutes.

And he soared to head the hosts back in front after they had been pegged back by an own goal.

Jack Smale, the Putford goalkeeper, was making his return from a broken hand but suffered an injury setback and was forced to go off.

Defender Tom Allin took over in goal and saved a penalty from Dan Crocombe – the third spot kick Braunton have missed this season.

The visitors missed a golden chance to equalise in the closing stages and, with Dan Goodman excellent in defence, Braunton held out.

With games in hand on the top two, Mark Alexander's emerging young team look well placed to challenge for the title.

Buckland Brewer 5 Hartland 3: Arran Brooks scored the first and last goals, getting Buckland Brewer back to winning ways after two heavy defeats.

Given their recent defensive problems, Simon Adams was switched to the back but he still got forward to fire them 3-2 up with a powerful free kick.

Hartland, helped by two goals from Dominic Allin, fought back three times before missing out.

Sean Freeman turned in a cross from Steve Eggleton to score Buckland's second and Eggleton added the fourth himself, with a header.
