Woolacombe shines among the best beaches in Europe
A BEACH in North Devon has been voted one of the top five in Europe by TripAdvisor travellers.
The 2013 Travellers' Choice Beaches Awards is based entirely on feedback from millions of TripAdvisor travellers.

AWARD-WINNING: Woolacombe beach has been praised by TripAdvisor.
Woolacombe Beach was crowned second best beach in the UK and fifth best in Europe.
First place in the UK went to Rhossili Bay, Swansea, while the top beach in Europe was voted as Rabbit Beach, Sicily.

Saunton Sands was voted the 24th best beach in the UK.
Emma Shaw, of TripAdvisor, said: "These awards recognise the best beaches in the UK and beyond, according to those that really matter – travellers that have visited these beaches and given them the highest levels of praise."

"Woolacombe in particular deserves its place in the top five European beaches, beating Greece, Turkey and Cornwall. The expansive sandy beach is world-renowned – clean and safe with excellent waves for surfing and bodyboarding."
Award winners were picked based on the most highly rated beaches by travellers in TripAdvisor reviews.
