Work not started on John Fowler Holiday Park site
IN April 2009 development at the John Fowler Holiday Park was halted because of asbestos.
Some nine months later, the asbestos is cleared, but construction still hasn't started.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) stepped in and stopped some of the site's 60 chalets being knocked down in order to build 160 holiday apartments, an indoor swimming pool and a cafe bar.
The asbestos at the centre of the concern has since been cleared and the site could now go ahead and be built as planned — but nothing seems to be happening.
The proposals were the brainchild of the Alpha Project Ltd, who have not responded to the
Journal's
e-mails or phone calls about the progress to the development.
But the derelict site is not the only problem the lack of development causes.
Almost half the money, £250,000, for the village's regeneration is due to come from the developers.
The funds for the promenade's redevelopment come as part of a section 106 agreement, which has yet to be signed by the Alpha Project.

“IF there are chalets still standing the asbestos problem still exist because all the chalets contain asbestos which is covered by rendor.”
