A young child had to be rescued by firefighters today after accidentally getting locked in a bathroom at a property in Bideford.

Fire crews from the town attended the property in Goaman Road at around midday.

Firefighters used a wrecking bar and small tools to rescue the female infant, who was unharmed as a result of the incident.
