BIDEFORD BLUES Under-10s are through to the semi-finals of the North Devon Contractors Youth League Plate.

They booked their place with a 6-0 home win over Appledore.

In the league, Chulmleigh had a 3-1 win at the expense of Ilfracombe Town.

William Hammill put Chulmleigh two up at the break and, after the visitors halved the deficit early in the second half, Sam Clark sealed the win.

Full-backs Jack Povey, the man of the match, and Wills Thurgood had outstanding games.

Woolsery coach Martin Alerdice said: "My lads played very well but mention must be made of a sterling effort by North Molton who never looked like giving up and played the game in a wonderful spirit."

Braunton Wanderers Under-12s won 6-1 at Holsworthy in their Division One game.Skipper William Harrison led by example from central defence, while at the other end an Alex Cammack hat-trick and further goals from Morgan Fouracre, Ollie Beck and Matthew Hartnoll brought the victory.

Jack Johnson struck twice as South Molton Under-13s won 2-1 at Torridgeside. Johnson fired the visitors ahead but, shortly after half-time, James Langmead levelled. Molton continued to press and Johnson notched his second. Jeremy Tucker was the winners' man of the match with a masterful display at centre-back.

Torridgeside coach, Rob Nicholson said: "The best team won, we had one of those mornings and I have no complaints with the result."
