Braunton man charged after stabbing incident

A BRAUNTON man has been charged with wounding after an alleged stabbing incident in the village this summer.

Phillip Gomersall will appear before Barnstaple magistrates next month charged with wounding and possession of a knife.

It is alleged he stabbed a 43-year-old man in the leg at the George Hotel on August 14.

Following the incident, Gomersall, 39, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a bladed weapon and grievous bodily harm. He is currently on bail.
