Thursday, November 13, 2008, 07:00

A POLICE investigation is underway after a vehicle crashed into a newly built house in Croyde.

Builders had only finished working on the property in Sandy Way last week.

They returned at 7.30am on Thursday to discover the boundary wall had been damaged.

Police said the cost of damage is estimated at about £3,500 and is thought to have been caused as a result of a collision.

There was glass and debris at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Officers have checked local vehicles for damage but there is no trace.

"They are also carrying out door to door inquiries. It is still under investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 08452 777444.
