Grace Notes Pack O' Cards, Combe Martin Saturday, October 24

ONE of the best-loved female groups on the folk scene brings its very special arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs to Shammick Acoustic this Saturday.

It won't be Grace Notes' first visit to North Devon, but it's a few years since they ventured South West from their homes in West Yorkshire.

"No one who saw them last time will want to miss the opportunity to hear their superlative musicianship as both singers and players," said Shammick Acoustic organiser, Barbara Brown.

The trio perform a cappella and accompanied songs in harmony.

They are Maggie Boyle, Linda Hardcastle and Helen Hockenhull, and individually, they've worked with the greats of folk music — names such as The Chieftains, John Tams, Bert Jansch, Nic Jones and the New Victory Band will be known to many.

Tickets: £7 at the door, or £6 in advance from the website www.wegottickets.com/event/39201. If you're in Combe Martin, you can buy tickets at the Pack O' Cards or Pets' Pantry, High Street.

For further information about Shammick Acoustic contact Tom or Barbara Brown on 01271 882366 or e-mail them on contact@shammickacoustic.org.uk.
