Long service awards for Royal British Legion members

AWARDS have been presented to four members of the Barnstaple branch of the Royal British Legion in recognition of their long and dedicated service.

Elizabeth Stevens received a certificate and bar to her medal for 35 years service.

Mark Short was presented with a gold medal and certificate for 30 years service.

Thomas Lawrence-Hall received a certificate and badge for 15 years service

And Andrew Tucker, the branch secretary, was awarded the Royal British Legion Gold badge.

Presenting the awards was Major Joe Martin, officer commanding C (North Devon) Company Devon Army Cadet Force, who thanked them for their dedicated work.

He also said he was proud of his cadets' connection with the legion which enabled them to provide support whenever the opportunity arose.

The Barnstaple detachment of the Army Cadet Force was affiliated with the local branch of the RBL earlier this year.
