Winter Sculpture exhibition RHS Rosemoor, Torrington Until Sunday, February 28

FROM dragonflies to sheep, and fairies to a full size deer made from reclaimed metal, more than 50 pieces of sculpture can be discovered in various locations throughout RHS Garden Rosemoor. From pebble monoliths to ceramic pigs and metal chickens, the contrasting pieces are the work of some of the best West Country sculptors.

Apparently the works of art are proving popular with visitors even inspiring some people to buy one for their own garden — although how you get a full sized metal deer in the back of a car remains a mystery.

February is also a great time to see the wonderful selection of winter flowering shrubs in the garden, as well as a wealth of berries, bark and colourful stems.

RHS Garden Rosemoor is open every day (except Christmas Day), seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm (October – March). Entry: £7 for adults and £2.50 for children (aged 6–16). Children under six and RHS members go free.
