South West Truckers will stage their 11th children's convoy on Saturday (September 4).

They will be taking children from Highfield House Child Development Centre on a day out to The Milky Way.

There will be about 35 lorries and the route they will take starts at 10am from Seven Brethren Lorry Park.

The lorry convoy will go up Sticklepath Hill, through Roundswell and onto the A39, returning at about 4.30pm.

Organisers hope people will give the children a wave as they pass.

Eddie White, of South West Truckers, said: "The ride in a big lorry is the highlight of the day for them.

"Thank you to all who have sponsored the day, all those who gave lorries and those who gave up their Saturday to drive.

"We apologise for any traffic hold ups the convoy may cause. There will be two motor patrol police officers escorting the convoy to and from the Milky Way."
