In the autumn of 2008, troops from RMB Chivenor returned to Afghanistan, for a six month deployment.

Men and women from Commando Logistic Regiment and 24 Commando Engineer Regiment formed the bulk of the Chivenor deployment, and went to Afghanistan as part of West Country-based 3 Commando Brigade.

The last time Chivenor was deployed, in 2006, we dedicated a special area on our website where people could read the latest news and leave messages of support for the troops in Afghanistan and their families at home.

This is our new and improved website area for the 2008/9 deployment which will include pictures, videos, blogs, messages of support and RMB Chivenor news – both from home and in Afghanistan.
