Chris Edwards, of Combe Martin, asked the Museum to find a home for his grandfather's albums of press cuttings which document his achievements as a cyclist.
Tricia Hampson, museum spokesperson said: "Alf C Edwards was a world famous cyclist in the 1890s, travelling through Europe, Australia and America.
"He began racing for the Polytechnic in London and in his eight year racing career — four as an amateur and four as a professional cyclist — he won more than 260 races."
The Museum then contacted the National Cycle Collection in Llandrindod Wells, and their curator Mr David Higman MBE has said they will be happy to add the three volumes of cuttings to their collection of cycling memorabilia.
SAFE PLACE: Victorian newspaper cuttings documenting Alf Edwards' cycling career have been rehomed by Combe Martin Museum.
