Fire crews called to rescue sheep stuck on Ilfracombe cliffs
Firefighters were called to Ilfracombe this afternoon after receiving reports of a sheep stuck on the cliffs.
Fire crews from Ilfracombe and Barnstaple were called to the scene near to White Pebble Bay at around 10.30am.

A member of the public rang 999 to report the incident after seeing the sheep stuck on the cliff face.
A spokesman for Swansea Coastguard said they had been informed of the incident but were letting the fire service deal with it.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “After assessing the situation the crews confirmed multiple sheep were on the cliff top and, as the sheep were in no immediate danger and not distressed, no further action was taken.”
