BROOMSTICKS away! Here are some other wicked things happening over Hallowe'en. For a full roundup of spooky events and bonfire night extravaganzas see next week's What's On

● Fun activities take place at Yeo Valley on Friday October 31 at the Community Woodland and children of all ages are invited to take part.

Activities include: pumpkin carving in the marquee near the Silverwood Heights entrance between 2pm and 4pm; a sponsored evening walk following a spooky trail, beginning at Long Meadow Drive at 6pm and ending in the woodland; a barbecue and a fancy dress competition in the marquee following the walk.

Sponsorship forms for the evening walk are available from Frankmarsh Stores or online at www.wt community.org.uk/yeovalley. For more information, contact the North Devon Council Parks Team on 01271 388326 or email parks@northdevon.gov.uk.

● There's a Marwood Starlight Party in the Old Rectory, Marwood on Friday October 31, 6pm to 7.30pm (this is an alternative to Hallowe'en party involving a torchlit treasure hunt for children and families).

● In Beaford ghosties, ghoulies and long-legged beasties may well be seen in the village on Friday October 31. If you are of a nervous disposition you should avoid The Globe Inn on Hallowe'en night, where there will be a gathering of spooks dressed to kill having their annual night out. If you're a brave one dress up and join them for some spooky fun.

● The Aggi in Braunton hosts a Hallowe'en party Friday October 31 with a three-course meal for £11.

● The Laurels in Petrockstowe has a Hallowe'en Karaoke night on Saturday November 1 at 8.30pm.
