“Want to make a difference in Bideford? Then join Bideford Sustainability Group - This is what we have been up to recently. Please let us know how you would like to get involved.
We had a very interesting evening on Tuesday 10th January when Adam Symons led a lively discussion on Green Energy (see previous posting).
There was a site meeting at the second Tarka Trail Orchard on Monday 16th. The site had been mostly cleared an was looking very spacious. We will be planting 14 trees there to include apples, pears, quinces and cob nuts on Saturday 25th February, starting at 10.30am. Please come and join in. Bring a packed lunch.
You are also invited to come to an informal gathering of BSG: 'Green Drinks' at the Blacksmiths Arms, Torrington Street, Bideford (next to the Tarka Trail), Tuesday 7th February from 7.30pm.
Tim Lamerton from the North Devon Access to Services Project will be leading a discussion on 'Life Beyond the Car' to explore whether it is possible to maintain independence and quality of life without a car. Thursday 16th February, 2.30pm, Baptist Church Hall, Mill Street, Bideford. Admission is free, just turn up on the day (no need to book).
I will also attach our latest newsletter so that you can see what else has been going on.
Get in touch if there's any more you'd like to know, otherwise hope to see you at some of the events.
Best wishes,
Jane
