● The annual Barnstaple Round Table firework display is back with a bang at the Rugby Ground in Mill Road this year, promising a great evening of family entertainment on Sunday (November 2) starting at 7pm.Organiser and Round Table member, Simon Randall, said: "Our annual displays always attract huge crowds and provides a safe, family atmosphere to watch a great firework show. There will be in excess of £2,000 worth of fireworks for all ages to enjoy, with monies raised going to help local charities. Each year we raise thousands of pounds to help some of the lesser known charities in the area with the money making a real difference to the people it helps."Two Tigers Fireworks, who are noted for their stunning shows, will be responsible for the firework display."If the past displays they have organised for us are anything to go by, this year will once again be truly spectacular," added Simon.There is plenty of free parking available from 6pm onwards at the nearby car parks of Fairview, Rolle Quay, Barnstaple Cattle Market and North Walk.Barnstaple Rugby Club have a licensed bar and will sell hot food and drinks. Gates open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Admission costs, payable on the gate, will be £3 per adult, £2.50 per child or £10 for a family ticket (two adults, two children). This popular family event is usually one of the area's biggest November displays. This year promises to be no different as the Cavaliers have secured the services of Two Tigers Fireworks, a pyrotechnics company noted for their great displays.Cavalier Nick Hallam said: "This is very much a family event, where you can enjoy a small bonfire and a professional firework display. We put all the gate money towards the fireworks, so the more people that support the event, the better the display next year.""And if there are any scarecrows left over from our summer competition, they can be dropped off at the rugby club to keep our guy company on the bonfire."The event starts at 7pm. Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children. A family ticket is £5. Children under three years of age go free. The rugby club bar will be open and there are on-site refreshments. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm with a display at 7.15pm. Hotdogs, soup and soft drinks will be on sale from 6pm. Family tickets £10 from the college.●There will be Fireworks on the Fields in Woolacombe on Wednesday November 5. The festivities begin at 6pm outside The Red Barn pub with a torch-lit procession to Woolacombe meadow, accompanied by drumming group, Humdrumconundrum. On arrival at the meadow the giant bonfire will be lit. On stage there will be live music from The Bar Stars. There will be a special sparkler and glow sticks zone, trampolines for children and a bar. There will also be hot dogs, sweet pancakes and jacket potatoes with homemade chilli. The grand firework display takes place at around 7.30pm. Colourful Chinese lanterns will be released into the sky. Tickets (£4 adult, £3 child and £10 family) are available from Woolacombe's Londis and Shirley's Newsagents and Mortehoe Post office, and on the gate. The event is in aid of Woolacombe's Family Playdays scheme and is supported by Mortehoe Parish Council and The National Trust.
