WANT to learn more about the natural history of our area? Check out a series of talks at Braunton Countryside Centre in July and August.

● July 24, Domesday North Devon — a look back at our landscape a millennium ago with geographer, John Bradbeer.

● July 31, Strangers On The Shore — discovering the mysterious boulders and other alien objects on the North Devon coast with geologist Dr Paul Madgett.

● August 7, Natural History of the Exmoor Coast with Brian Pearce.

● August 14, Devon's Old Orchards and The Special Mazzard Trees with Michael Gee from Orchards Live.

● August 21, Protecting Wetlands Around The World, with Dr Mike Moser, an international wetlands expert and chairman of the North Devon Biosphere Reserve.

● August 28, North Devon folklore, myths and legends with local historian Peter Christie.
