VALERIE Smith's music has taken her from coast to coast and around the world. She has become an ambassador of bluegrass music and has entertained music lovers in New York, London, Berlin, Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and hundreds of other venues across the globe. She has been the recipient of IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) awards and has been nominated for a Grammy Award as part of the Ralph Stanley Clinch Mountain Sweethearts.
At this Plough Arts Centre gig she will be joined by members of her band, Liberty Pike, including multi-instrumentalist, singer and award-winning songwriter, Becky Buller. The accomplished fiddle and banjo player is said to be one of the most exciting, talents on the scene today.
Organisers Martin and Marianne Lucas of the Wildwood Flower Mountain Music Club said: “This is absolutely top quality music from an exciting, dynamic and highly entertaining quintet, playing bluegrass, old time, Americana and swing – so something for everyone, and with support from our own four-piece harmony vocal band De Vine.”
