Outrageous fun day out for Senior Citizens
PERKY Pensioners are invited to join in a special fun day out at the Big Sheep, Bideford. Senior citizens, who want to recapture their childhood, are invited to bounce around on giant pillows, fling themselves down slides and have a go at street dancing, at the annual Growing Old Disgracefully day.
Rick Turner, director of the flock at the Big Sheep said: "What is the point of growing older if you cannot conduct yourself in an increasingly disgraceful manner, possibly to the great embarrassment of your children and grandchildren? Our Growing Old Disgracefully Day will be a perfect opportunity for everyone over the age of 60 with a sense of fun to come along to our family attraction and behave in a totally outrageous manner."
Event organiser, Claire Payne, has lined up a programme of "madness, mayhem, fun and nonsense".
"Street dance is very popular among young people nowadays, but is often perceived by the older generation as a rowdy group of children dressed in hoodies. Amy Sears from Streetz Dance Crew of Torrington will be running a dance workshop to prove that her street dancing is fun and full of good spirit.
"We'll be kitting the over 60s out in hoodies of their own and teaching them some moves to strut their stuff but we're also hoping that they will add their own 'old style' dancing into the street dance."
Visitors can have a go on the Big Sheep's massive jumping pillows, enjoy a twister ride and plenty of other fun activities.
The day begins at 10am with coffee, tea and biscuits, and a buffet lunch will be served at 1pm. The day will end with a street-dance performance and certificates for anyone who completes their driving test on the small coin operated tractors. At 3.30pm everyone can enjoy a refreshing and well earned cuppa.
The event, (including refreshments and buffet lunch), is £7.50. Booking is essential. Phone Anne or Claire at the Big Sheep on 01237 472366.
