World class pianist comes to North Devon Jazz Club
A WORLD class pianist comes to North Devon Jazz Club in November for a special one-off gig.
Jonathan Gee has been highly praised by jazz critics. For example, the Independent called him a "reflective, beautifully poised pianist" and Time Out described him as "sparky and sensitive… a compelling pianist."
Jonathan has played all over the world with many jazz greats, including singer Claire Martin, Tim Whitehead and Tony Kofi on the UK scene and Art Farmer, Mark Murphy, David Murray and others on the USA circuit.
He particularly admires the music of the great American composer and pianist Theolonius Monk and he has appeared twice at concerts where Monk's complete works have been performed in one day-long session.
Entry will be free, although a collection will be taken for the musicians.
For meal bookings phone 01237 474822 and for more details phone Peter Hames on 01237 421065.
