You owe us a penny, taxman tells Lynmouth pub landlord

Sue Broadfoot, owner of The Village Inn, was surprised to receive a letter from the Inland Revenue, which threatened bailiff action if she didn't cough up the penny.
She said: "It's ridiculous, it would have cost them more to send the letter out. But we've all had a good laugh about it in the pub, and the locals all find it hilarious, and decided to start collecting their pennies in a pot and donating them to charity.
"They've chosen the Devon Air Ambulance and the RNLI."
Sue has now paid the bill.
