'Very mean crime'
A WOMAN who stole her friend's cash card while she looked after her 13-year-old son has said she is "disgusted" by her actions.
Samantha Scott, 40, of Danes Hay in Northam, pleaded guilty at North Devon Magistrates on Thursday last week to stealing £200 from her friend, in what magistrates described as a "very mean crime".
Scott, who used the card at Sainsbury's in Roundswell while her friend was at home with Scott's son, was staying with her friend at the time of the incident on December 1.
Defence solicitor Tony Dart said Scott had "not thought further than the end of her nose".
She was placed under a supervision and community order for 12 months and ordered to repay the money, as well as £85 costs.
