Three new councillors elected for Instow Parish Council

An election to replace three vacancies on Instow Parish Council took place last night.

There was a 31.4% turnout for the vote.

The new councillors elected are Michael John Champion who received 108 votes, Bob Harrison, with 143 votes and Will Vandersteen with 137.

The vacancies came about following the resignation of councillors Stewart White, Ben Thomas and Peter Cook.

Another resignation came about at the last parish council meeting from councillor Charlie Harper, making a total of four in just two months.

If no election is requested by February 14 the council will co-opt someone to fill the last remaining position.

Parish clerk Roger Jacobs has also handed in his notice to the council.
